Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles included two episodes on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on The ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. The parents of her didn't want her to pursue acting until she became an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry says she didn't want to be an actor in high school but decided to take up acting as a social activity at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry made her debut in New York after graduation, landing minor roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry come back to California to work as an actress in the theater. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. She had a regular role in the ABC political drama Scandal, starring her dad. In addition, she played in the role of a older Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - an CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. She was cast in the role despite her close family connection to the character.
